Founded in 1987, the WRLC brings together DC-area university libraries to make research faster, smarter, and collaborative. Through our partnership, we bring together over 22 million items - from books and journals to digital archives - and provide next-day delivery between campuses. Beyond lending, WRLC provides a unified discovery platform, safeguards rare print and digital materials in state-of-the-art facilities, and supports the tools and services that keep scholarship moving forward in our region and beyond.

History

The WRLC is a non-profit corporation founded in 1987 by universities in the DC area. We enable the success of learning and scholarship by creating coordinated collections, creating a robust infrastructure for discovery and access, ensuring the long-term preservation of physical and digital information resources and sharing expertise.
